Quotable You

What is the best meal you can cook and what are the benefits to eating it (serious or not)?

We would love if you put your answer to the question in the comments. Prove your word savvy by doing it under 30 words.

Manliest of Men

The best meal I can cook is any meal meant to be shared, made with love. In so doing, you nourish both body and spirit – your guests and your own.
(that’s my 30 words, but if I can have 3 more, braised lamb shanks!).

Lobster Thermidor, tastes good and you get your omega fats. Good for the heart in multiple ways!

-Jordan

Italian sausage and gorgonzola stuffed chicken, with mushroom risotto and a bottle of red. Women love a guy who can cook.

-Paul

Grilled filets, shrimp, asparagus, and twice baked potatoes while curling 12oz barley sodas… Like to stay fit

-Blake

Dr. Pepper bbq ribs with twice baked potatoes because it says I like summer, endorse 23 flavors, and won’t give up on America.

Pot Roast, Chili, Meatloaf, and Cherry Pie because, by husbandry decree, only he is permitted to prepare these delicacies. Clearly, the red meat and sugar make them heart-healthy, diet staples. :)

I’m all about the basics: salad, grilled cheese, mac and cheese (yes, the Kraft kind), and other pastas. Baking is another story.

Cooking is something my momma never taught me. She was a self-proclaimed bad cook and unfortunately I am too. Therefore my favorite recipe includes a GPS and lowering my window.

Since my maiden name is “Best,” I’ll claim every meal that I cook as my best! :) One of my favorites right now only needs a blender…smoothies that “hide” anything from dark chocolate chips to kale- sometimes in the same drink. Amazing. Healthy. Delicious.
